Why I Want to Be Delta County Sheriff

As a lifelong resident of Delta County, I have seen firsthand the growing need for all first responder agencies to work together to provide the level of service our community deserves.

 With over 20 years of full-time, non-interrupted, law enforcement experience, I bring a unique skill set that fosters collaboration across agencies — from local law enforcement and ambulance services to fire departments, Colorado Parks and Wildlife, and our federal partners, including the BLM and Forest Service. I also recognize the critical role of strong communication with the District Attorney’s Office to ensure our deputies have the tools necessary for solid, successful prosecutions.

Beyond interagency cooperation, I am committed to engaging with our community through transparency and open dialogue. My approach centers on listening, understanding, and keeping an open mind, because effective law enforcement begins with trust and respect.

I am also open to adopting proven technologies that save lives and enhance public safety.

By combining my experience, communication skills, and leadership with a team of dedicated professionals and community members, I am confident we can succeed in “putting UNITY back into Community.”
